We went to see MC Lyte at Von King Park in Bed Stuy on Thursday. Little did we know that you need to get there early to see a performer with Lyte's resume. The place was packed and the seating was very limited. I wasn't able to get a good pic of her for our or your viewing pleasure. I was able to get a pic of Ralph McDaniels aka Uncle Ralph (Video Music Box). I remember before cable, watching his show on the U setting of TV's...always channel 31 though. Nowadays Uncle Ralph in involved with alot of NYC based Hip Hop events, in particular one of my favorite websites. I tend to check out some of my favorite oldies.
Friday night, I came straight home after work and she did the same. I cooked for us and we decided to stay in.
Saturday...well that was posted the other day, see below.
Sunday was a bike ride into Manhattan with some friends and a ferry ride to Governor's Island. We took a couple of laps, saw a serious bike race, had lunch and just relaxed. It was a pleasant day with some friends. We headed back to Brooklyn and stopped for some ice cream. Of course, we had to go to a church basement. Before we went to meet our friends, she wanted to stop by and view some graffiti that was on display in Park Slope.
