My man Nas did something that needs to be done more often by our black/latino superstars. The beauty of this is that when one of "our artist" has time to mature and grow into a man, his perspective should and usually does change. Imagine what the "warrior" Tupac Shakur would be writing about right now? It's so sad that any artist (Hip Hop) that tries to be the voice of and for the people, tend to get overlooked. Why is that? We can blame all of the record execs and the media outlets all we want to, but we have to assume some responsibility.
Please read the HipHopDX.com article and especially the letter.
